Corruption will not seize in Nigeria until Jesus comes - Prophet Abiara

Former General Evangelist of the Christ Apostolic Church, Prophet Samuel Abiara, in an interview with Punch, revealed that corruption will not end in Nigeria anytime soon.

LAGOS STATE CHIEF IMAM DEAD.

The Chief Imam of Lagos, Haruna Akinola, is dead. The cleric passed away today after a brief illness at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH.

Reacting to the cleric’s passing, the President of the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, MSSN, in Lagos State, Saheed Ashafa, described him as a worthy leader. Mr. Ashafa urged other Islamic leaders to emulate the deceased, saying that his promotion of unity was outstanding.

He was 79.

EFCC Probes How Ex-Local Govt. Chairmen Spent Over N300m ‘To Fight Boko Haram’ In Oyo State

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has begun investigation into how N11 million allegedly taken by each of 33 ex-local government caretaker chairmen was spent to secure Oyo State against incursion by Boko Haram insurgents during the 2015 general elections.

Premium Times gathered that the investigation followed a petition submitted to the commission revealing that the money was disbursed from the Local Government Stabilization Account to each of the 33 local government areas of the state.

The petition, which claimed that the ex-council chairmen took the money between March 23 and 25, 2015, was said to have also indicted the state government and its Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters in the matter.

Humanrights lawyer, Femi Falana, says that the life of the leader of the now-outlawed secessionist group, IPOB, might be in danger following the recent clash members of his group had with military officers in Umuahia, Abia state. Falana also said that he might have relocated to the UK to join his family. In an interview with Punch, Falana said when Kanu was campaigning for the creation of Biafra, he never threw away his British passport.

Singer Iydl has won the Voice Nigeria Season 2 competition. The competition came to an end in South Africa this evening. Other contestants who made it to the finale include ymeca, Idyl, Jade X, Jahtell, Wow, Ebube, Chris Real, Yemeca. Iydl was in Timi Dakolo's team. Congrats to him!

He also dropped cryptic messages on Instagram, one of it addressing how no one's opinion should matter about something that makes you happy.

Though no names were mentioned, Paul Okoye replied in a post via his own Instagram page, talking about how the birth of his twins was making someone jealous and restless. He 
accused the person of having sleepless nights, and also indirectly called out Peter's wife Lola - saying; "Only a woman can come where there's peace and destroy it. Try me this time, I swear Nyash go open. You will know that blood is thicker and stronger than juju."
