EFCC arraigns Whistle Blowers in High Court for giving false info

The EFCC on May 16, 2017 arraigned the duo of Buhari Fannami and Ba-Kura Abdullahi on two separate one count charge before Justice M. T Salihu of the Federal High Court Maiduguri, for allegedly giving false information to the agency under the whistle blowing policy. 

Fannami had misled the EFCC with the information about illegally acquired monies purportedly buried at the residence of one Ba’a Lawan but the info turned out to be false after the execution of a search warrant, while, Ba-Kura Abdullahi also gave false information to the effect that large sum of money in naira and foreign currencies were buried in the residence of Ba’a Lawan.

The newly built Pedestrian Bridge was commissioned by the governor, Akinwunmi Ambode yesterday.

After the commissioning, Steve Ayorinde the Commissioner for Information and Strategy took to Instagram to say,

 'It's no more Ojodu-Berger. It's now Ojodu-Ambode. Extraordinary transformation without a doubt'.

An aircraftman of the Nigerian Air Force, Ben Kalu, who has been in custody for the alleged murder of his girlfriend, Solape Oladipupo, at the NAF base in Makurdi, Benue State, will face a court-martial on Friday.

Punch Metro gathered that Kalu, who had been in custody for over two months at the NAF Tactical Command, Makurdi, would begin the process of court-martial on Friday, after which he would be handed over to the appropriate security agency for prosecution.

Kalu had on Sunday, March 12, shot dead Oladipupo, popularly called Shomzy, in her apartment at the base, on the grounds that she was unfaithful in their romantic affair.

'The time has come to assassinate Syrian president' -Israeli minister, Yoav Galant

Yoav Galant, the minister of Housing and Construction in Israel has called for the assassination of Syrian President Bashar Assad saying he 'does not have a place in this world.'

The call comes days after the US State Department accused the Assad regime of carrying out mass killings of thousands of prisoners and burning the bodies in a large crematorium outside the capital.

The State Department said it is believed that about 50 detainees a day are being hanged at Saydnaya military prison, about 45 minutes north of Damascus. 

Reacting to the report at a press conference which held on Tuesday in Jerusalem, Galant who previously served as the head of the IDF’s Southern Command, said:

A suspected cultist, Precious Stanley pictured above, has been arrested by the police in Sapele Delta state. According to Facebook user, Sapele Oghenek, the suspected cultist was arrested after he sustained gunshot injury during a clash between his cult group, Eiye confraternity and members of the BG cult group. 

The groups who have terrorized the town for some months now, engaged in a gun battle two days ago. Precious was apprehend by the police with a gunshot wound. Upon interrogation, he confessed to being a cult member. He is currently in police custody. 

Nigerian woman delivers sextuplets after 17 years of marriage

A Nigerian woman, Mrs Ajibola Adeboye has delivered a set of sextuplets after 17 years of marriage.

Mrs Adeboye delivered her six children, 3 boys and 3 girls, at the Virginia Commonwealth University Teaching Hospital (VCU) Richmond VA. USA, on May 11th, 2017. Mother and children are said to be doing fine.

According to her husband, Mr Adeboye Taiwo, they were asking for just one child but God surprised them with six. He said they didn't know they were having a set of sextuplets until they had an ultrasound.

Days after the shocking murder of 22-year-old Karabo Mokoena, the bodies of two friends Popi Qwabe and Bongeka Phingula were found at a dumping site in Tladi informal settlement, Johannesburg Tuesday morning. 

According to reports, they were mugged, raped and shot dead over the weekend. The young women went missing on Friday, May 12. Bongeka Phungula graduated from the Durban University of Technology. She recently moved to Johannesburg to pursue an acting career. Qwabe is from Zola, Soweto.

N4.9bn Fraud: EFCC Re-arraigns Fani-Kayode, Others Before New Judge

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Monday re-arraigned a former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, for an alleged fraud of N4.9bn. He was re-arraigned before a new judge, Justice Rilwan Aikawa, after he objected to being tried before Justice Muslim Hassan of the same court before whom he was earlier arraigned on June 28, 2016.

A former Minister of State for Finance, Senator Nenadi Usman; who was listed as the one defendant in the charge, one Danjuma Yusuf and a company, Joint Trust Dimensions Limited were equally re-arraigned before Justice Aikawa yesterday. The 17 counts pressed against them border on conspiracy, unlawful retention of proceeds of theft and money laundering.
