Breakthrough: Scientists Excited As New Drug Flushes Out HIV

There is a new excitement among scientists about a drug that could flush out HIV from the blood system, thereby providing hope of a cure for millions of carriers of the virus across the world.
At the ongoing 20th international conference on AIDS 2014 in Melbourne, Australia, experts reported that early results of the research tried on six people living with HIV are very “exciting” and are “a promising start”.
Those living with HIV are currently placed on anti-retroviral drugs which can drive the virus to insignificant or undetectable levels in the bloodstream. But while this has led to normal life expectancy in carriers and has even seen HIV-positive persons have children that are free of the virus, the anti-retroviral drugs are not a cure because the virus can still hide in someone’s DNA and be dormant for decades.

Photos: Python swallows Antelope then spews out its dead body

The jaw dropping moment a giant Python swallowed a baby Antelope was captured on camera by animal rescuer Nitish Bambhaniya in the village of Billa in Gujarat, India.
"I got a call in the morning for an Indian rock python. When we reached the spot, we saw this massive python. The python had hunted a baby blue bull and had already eaten 80% of the bull's body. It is on the edge of an open field, so lots of locals start gathering there." Nitish said
As people gathered, with many saying the snake should be killed as it could be a danger to them, the snake known as the Indian Rock Python stopped swallowing the antelope & let go of its lifeless body
"Pythons do it so that they can shed body weight and escape faster. Meanwhile, we convinced the villagers not to kill the python and they agreed. Later we caught the python and handed it over to the forest department officials." Nitish said
The python was released by the officials in a nearby forest, before slithering away to freedom. See pics of the action after the cut...

HALF OF A YELLOW SUN GROSS N280 MILLION...IN NIGERIAN CINEMAS AUGUST 1

The worldwide release of ‘Half of a Yellow Sun’ has generated two hundred and eighty million naira (N280,000,000) from the cinema, TV sales rights, online viewing and in-flight viewing. The movie, which generated a lot of public debate after its release, was suspended by NFVCB in April will be released across 17 Nigerian cinemas come Friday, August 1.

The journey of ‘Half of a Yellow Sun’ to Nigerian cinema has not been all rosy, as the Nigerian Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) refused to classify the movie in a move that some people felt was political, while NFVCB insisted that some aspects of the movie could incite unrest. After a lot of meetings, intrigues and public outcry which attracted international attention, the Nigerian Film and Video Censors Board eventually classified the movie and gave the go ahead for a cinema release.

The movie which had been released in the UK, USA, Australia and New Zealand has so far generated over #280,000,000 and this is according to a source close to the producer. The total figure came to about one million pounds.

The movie which will be released come August 1 across Nigeria is expected to set a new box office record in Nigeria since the producer, author, and director are all from Nigeria. Keen watchers are interested to see if HOAYS will beat the Box office record of over N100 million set by ‘Avengers.’

‘Half of a Yellow Sun’, is set in the time of the Biafra War and is the story of love, hate, lust, greed, jealousy and forgiveness. The movie features British-Nigerian BAFTA award winner and Oscar nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor, BAFTA award winner Thandie Newton and other A-list actors including, Genevieve Nnaji. The movie would be distributed in Nigeria by FilmOne Distribution.

Words from a father to a son about marriage...

1. My son, if you keep spending on a woman and she never asked you if you’re saving or investing, and she keeps enjoying the attention, don’t marry her.

2. My son, a woman could be a good wife to you, some could be a good mother to your children but if you’ve found a woman like a mother to you, your children and your family, please don’t let her go.
3. My son, don’t confine the position of your wife to the kitchen, where did you get that from? Even in our days, we had farm-lands where they worked every morning . . . that was our office.

4. My son, if I tell you that you’re the head of the house, don’t look at your pocket; look if you will see a smile on your wife’s face.

5. My son, if you want to have a long life, let your wife be in-charge of your salary, it will be difficult for her to spend it when she’s aware of the home needs and bills to pay but if it’s in your care, she will keep you asking even when all has been spent.

6. My son, don’t ever beat your woman, the pain in her body is nothing to be compared to the wound on her heart and that means you may be in trouble living with a wounded woman.

7. My son, now that you’re married, if you live a bachelor kind of life with your wife, you will soon be single again.

8. My son, in our days, we had many wives and many children because of our large farm-lands and many harvests, there are hardly any land for farming anymore, so embrace your woman closely.

9. My son, under the cocoa tree that I did meet your mother could be your eateries and restaurants of nowadays, but remember, the closet thing we did there was to embrace each other.

Beyonce and Jay Z headed for divorce?

Beyonce and Jay- Z's marriage can only be saved by "divine inspiration", according to reports.
A source spilled the beans to the New York Post that the duo was trying to figure out a way to split without divorcing.

The source asserted that the couple made the classic mistake of thinking a child would change everything and help to revive the initial fire, but it didn't help either.

Queen Bey hinted at trouble in her marriage earlier this month after changing the lyrics of a performance in reference to her own fraught relationship.

The 32-year-old singer and actress changed the lyrics of her song Resentment from "Been ridin' with you for six years" to "Been ridin' with you for twelve years" – the amount of time she and Jay Z, real name Shawn Carter, have been together.

The source added that there were no rings on the couple's fingers.
It had been suggested the birth of Blue Ivy, 2, had brought the couple closer together.
"For just a split moment, things got real for them and she was even talking about adding to the family," the source said.
"But, after a while, Jay was out doing Jay and Bey was out doing Bey. They made the classic mistake of thinking a child would change everything and help to rekindle the initial fire, and it didn't."
